Computer Help Cafe

     These engaging 1 hour workshops are open and free to the community as a place to come together to learn and ask questions about your computer, tablet, and phones in an enjoyable and relaxed manner. Join two knowledgeable co-hosts, for three fun and interactive workshops:

Staying Safe, June 3 – Learn about safety online, how to keep your personal information safe & how to tell if the sites you want to visit are safe.

Discussion points include:
– What are the most dangerous hacks out there?
– What is a hacker / cybersecurity?
– Places to keep informed / additional places to read

Tips & Tricks, June 10 – Learn tips & tricks about how and where you can find free resources such as tutorials, instructions and games as well as other tips and tricks about how to make your online life a bit easier and more fun.

Discussion points include:
– Saving money shopping online
– Windows or Mac? What are the differences?
– Resources; free vrs. paid, games and entertainment

Staying Social, June 17 – This workshop will touch on some Zoom & video conferencing tips and tricks (like personalized backgrounds!) as well as Facebook, email and other fun and social based sites.

Discussion points include:
– Why staying social is important
– Netiquette
– Something for everyone
– Express yourself

     The workshops are free, safe and designed to be a low-pressure learning and sociable programming – Please indicate your interest by clicking CONTACT US. We welcome participants to sign up for one, two or all three of the dates!

     Participants will be sent a Zoom link just like Knox Coffee Time on Sundays – just click the link sent to access the workshop at 1PM on the selected dates.

     The Co-Hosts and volunteers will be available for one on one assistance through Break Out rooms so you can learn at your own speed if needed.

     We encourage you to send any questions or concerns you may have in advance! There will be time during the cafe to ask your questions as well.

     Please Note

     Knox or Beyond the Conversation will never ever ask for personal information such as passwords or credit card information in these cafes. The co-hosts are available outside of the Café to hire for private consultations if you are interested and the same applies that they will never ask for personal information; this can be arranged directly with the Host and is by donation to through Beyond the Conversation for the Co-Host’s time and assistance.

About the Host Matthew

     Matthew is a computer tutor who has taught at VCH, Honoria Conway home, as well as other private residences.  He is passionate about making computers accessible and FUN!  He enjoys nature and in the summer, plays tennis.
