Families and Forgiveness
Based on Genesis 37:1-11, 45:1-15 – The Story of Joseph
Joseph was favoured by his parents but hated by his brothers. They sold him to travelling merchants and he eventually ended up in a foreign country as a slave. But the resentment and the hardship did not change his character and faith in God. Joseph forgave his brothers when they met years later. All families have the good, the bad, and the ugly stories. Families need to offer forgiveness and practice reconciliation continuously.

Welcoming
Call to Worship (Psalm 33:1-5, 22 NRSV)
Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous. Praise befits the upright.
Praise the Lord with the lyre; make melody to God with the harp of ten strings.
Sing to God a new song; play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts.
For the word of the Lord is upright, and all God’s work is done in faithfulness.
God loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.
Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you.
Come, let us worship God!
