We light the fourth candle on our Advent wreath. It is often referred to as MARY’s CANDLE.
We have almost finished our waiting. Jesus is going to be born soon! We talked about the wreath being a circle to remind us of God’s unending love.
We note, too, that it is covered in greenery to symbolize God’s love for us, which is always growing.
We think of Mary waiting to bear a child that she knew was special.
The candle we light for the fourth Sunday of Advent is the candle of LOVE.
The arts are a way for us to engage with ourselves and each other, so this year at Knox we are presenting a variety of art to guide us through Advent.
The painting featured this week is Love’s Pure Light by Steve Gamba
Based on: “Luke 2:7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.”
This particular piece of wall art from July 2015 has become so popular that it has been reproduced as Stationery, Home Decor, Lifestyle, and Beach Accessories. Art takes many forms in our lives.
