About the Performance
To comfort people during the pandemic, the program is full of beloved and beautiful pieces including art song, opera aria, and famous pop songs.
It starts with a German art song, “Ständchen”, by R.Strauss. Ständchen is well-known as serenade which means love song. You will hear a beautiful poetry with fantastic music.
After lovely serenade, one of the most beloved songs from Beatles, “Yesterday”, will be sung. Although it is sad, there must be farewells in our life. We hope this song comforts you by giving you sympathy.
And then, there will be a duet “A love until the end of time” by L.Holdridge. One of the most beautiful expressions to say “forever” is “until the end of time”. We hope you all have love in your heart until the end of time.
We also prepared a very beloved and famous opera aria “Caro nome che il mio cor(Beloved name within my heart)” from opera Rigoletto by G.Verdi. You will hear Sodam’s clean and beautiful phrases and high notes in this aria.
As opposed to the previous aria, you will listen to a very passionate love song, “Dark eyes”. From this Russian folk song, you will hear captivating dynamics with Euichun’s deep and low voice.
For the last stage, we are going to sing another duet, “You raise me up” by Rolf Løvland. Despite of this pandemic, we will be raised up eventually. We hope this song gives your soul hope and peace.
