Narrative Lectionary

A New Sermon Series with Rev Dr Richard Chung

The Narrative Lectionary is a four-year cycle of Bible readings, covering the major episodes in Scripture. The texts follow the biblical story, focusing on the major episodes in Scripture from Creation through the early Christian church. It is arranged in a narrative sequence to help us see Scripture as a story that has coherence and a dynamic movement. Knox will follow the Narrative Lectionary schedule for Sunday worship services September 2021 through May 2022.

Showing the breadth and variety of voices within Scripture, the Narrative Lectionary invites You to hear the stories of Abraham and Sarah, Moses and the prophets, Jesus, and Paul.  The texts proclaim what God is doing. The stories tell of hope and disappointment, suffering and redemption. In all these varied contexts, we find God dealing with the complexities of human life.

Sunday Worship Series:
Divine Invitation and Human Response

September 12 to October 10

In the first 5 Sundays, starting September 12, we will be covering the major stories from the Book of Genesis and Exodus. The series “Divine Invitation and Human Response” will examine how our life’s meaning is intimately interlocked with our response to God’s invitation to Kindle Our Chaos, Choose Our Sacrifice, Remember Our Bethel, Know Our Great “I Am”, and Cherish Our Manna.

Capital Project Donations provide Knox the foundation to build and be a committed member of our neighbourhoods. Decades of fund raising allowed the purchase and maintenance of our building. They supported the never ending ‘projects’ which come with property ownership ~ repave the parking lot, fix the roof, etc., leading to today and greater potential.
This ongoing help is needed and appreciated for today and the years ahead.
