February 14, 2021: Jesus Transfigured
Transfiguration Sunday
Text: Mark 9:2-9
Jesus was transfigured to the fullness of glory, revealing the fullness of God. As followers of Jesus Christ, we are to embrace the light of Christ and to refract and shine his light to the world.
February 7, 2021: Healing
Healed!
Texts: Mark 1:29-39
When Jesus healed, he healed and restored the whole person. The followers of Jesus Christ are called to pray for sick people and heal and restore the whole person and society.
January 31, 2021: Deliverance From An Evil Spirit
January 24, 2021: The Practice of Stillness
Uncluttered
Texts: Jonah 3:1-5, 10, Mark 1:14-20
Following Jesus requires a de-cluttering of unnecessary and harmful stuff in our lives that clog our emotional and spiritual arteries. The practice of stillness in God helps us to de-clutter our life to follow Jesus better.
January 17, 2021: The Calling of Disciples
Come and See
Texts: John 1:43-51
Following Jesus requires a constant “coming” near to him, as we go away from other things, and to be led by the Spirit to “see” what Jesus is doing in our midst so that we can participate in Jesus’ ministry.
January 10, 2021: Baptism of Jesus Christ
Out of the Water
Texts: Genesis 1:1-5, Mark 1:4-11
Out of the (chaotic) water, God creates the universe. Out of the (deep) water, Jesus begins his ministry. God is always turning our chaos into creation. We need to remind ourselves that in every dark cloud, there is always a silver lining in Jesus Christ.
January 3, 2021: Epiphany Sunday
Led by Dreams
Texts: Jeremiah 31:1-4, and Matthew 2:13-23,
Joseph and Mary faced one hardship after another as they ushered in God’s son into the world. God came to them through dreams. They got up and went where the dreams told them to go. As we begin 2021, we need to be led by the dream of what things could be, a vision from God that grounds us in hope and faithfulness of God.
Capital Project Donations provide Knox the foundation to build and to be a committed member of our neighbourhoods. Decades of fund raising allowed the purchase and maintenance of our building. They supported the never ending ‘projects’ which come with property ownership; repave the parking lot, fix the roof, etc., leading to today and greater potential.
This ongoing help is needed and appreciated for today & the years ahead.
