Narrative Lectionary Series
Rev Dr Richard Chung

Trees of Integrity
Based on: Isaiah 61: 1-9
Apostle Paul lived to proclaim Christ, “for to me, living is Christ.” It was his purpose in life, his Life-Sign. What Life-Sign defines your purpose and meaning in life? What Sign does our church resonate with the world?
Order of Worship Service – June 19, 2022
Prelude: “God of the Sparrow”, J. Wayne Kerr
Welcoming & Introduction
Candle Lighting & Call to Worship
One: The church exists to expand human freedom in God’s world.
All: We belong to God!
One: We need the encouragement of Christ, whose life apparently ended in fear and defeat,
All: but who has become a resurrection witness of trust and grace for us.
One: Let’s open our eyes and ears
All: to see and hear other witnesses of grace and freedom.
One: Let’s open our hearts
All: to God’s call to newness of life.
Let us worship God.
Opening Prayer
You, with your grace, move into every margin opened up by fear, or loneliness, or despair, or need.
You move in and you fill the empty spaces in us and between us with your love.
You move in and you open what is closed.
You move in and you unsettle us with your new life, your audacious call, your self-giving love.
In this time of worship heal us in our broken places.
Nourish us in our hunger and thirst.
Give us the assurance of your grace and help us to continue to trust in you and follow Jesus Christ.
In his name we pray,
Amen.

Offering Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen.
