Pondering the Meaning of Maundy Thursday
     The word Maundy is derived from the Latin word mandatum, meaning “commandment,” Maundy refers to the commands Jesus gave his disciples at the Last Supper: to love with humility by serving one another and to remember his sacrifice.

Prayer after Communion: Gracious and loving God, we thank you for Jesus, who, on the night he was betrayed, gave himself to his friends in humble service, in bread and in wine.  May what we have shared and done here sustain us for the journey that we might be light for one another in the darkness of this night.  Amen.
