Christmas Cookie Workshop Photos

     On Monday, December 13th we joined with Hailey from Hails Home Bakery to bake some fantastic Christmas Cookies! She led us through the steps to make perfect chocolate dipped sugar cookies that don’t even have be refrigerated before baking! Amidst some laughs, baking stories, jokes and community Christmas spirit Hailey gave us some fantastic tips and tricks on what to take into account when baking so they turn out perfect every time. This recipe is easy for even the most beginner baker and tasty enough to temp the most experienced. Chocolate Dipped Sugar Cookies

  • 1 Cup Unsalted Butter, 226 grams
  • 1 Cup Sugar, 200 grams
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Tsp Almond Extract (Can be omitted and replaced with Vanilla)
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 3 Cups All-Purpose Flour, 360 grams
  • 1 Cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips, 170 grams
  • 1/2 Cup Heavy Cream, 123 grams
  • Christmas Themed Sprinkles or Crushed Candy Canes

Set your oven to 350 degrees and line a cookie tray with parchment paper
First beat your butter and sugar together
When fully incorporated add Vanilla, Almond, and Egg
In a separate bowl mix together your dry ingredients Baking powder, Salt, and flour
Add your dry mix in slowly portion by portion to your wets
Once fully incorporated cookie dough should be sticky enough that you can make a ball but not so dry that it is flaky.
Roll out on a lightly floured surface and cut out your desired shapes.
Place onto cookie tray and bake for 6-8 mins. Cookies should be firm to the touch on the edges and no overly browned.
While your cookies are baking use the double boiler method to melt chocolate chips and heavy cream together.
Once your cookies are cooled dip in chocolate and sprinkle with fun sprinkles or candy cane pieces.
