When Gratitude Turns to Gold

The golden calf is not simply a story about people forgetting God. It is about turning the mystery of God into something visible, useful, and controllable. Moses intercedes for the people, and Thanksgiving becomes a deeper question: can we receive God’s gifts without remaking the giver in our own image?

Series synopsis:
From the night at the sea to Moses’ final view of the promised land, Israel discovers that freedom does not end fear, hunger, doubt, or failure. Again and again, the deeper question is whether God is truly among them. We will follow these stories without avoiding their difficult parts, learning a faith that can question, grieve, wrestle and still remain.
