When God Moves Behind Us
The cloud that had led Israel moves behind them and stands between them and danger. Yet the sea that becomes a road to freedom for one people becomes a place of death for another. We begin by holding deliverance and grief together, refusing either to abandon the story or to explain away the part that troubles us.
Led by: Rev Dr Richard Chung
Exodus 14:19-31; Psalm 114
Series synopsis:
From the night at the sea to Moses’ final view of the promised land, Israel discovers that freedom does not end fear, hunger, doubt, or failure. Again and again, the deeper question is whether God is truly among them. We will follow these stories without avoiding their difficult parts, learning a faith that can question, grieve, wrestle and still remain.
