Sunday Worship – Joint Service with UHIll
Presider: Rev. Richard Chung
Preacher: Rev. Aaron Miller
Scripture Reader: Ruth Situma (UHill)
Special Music: Aidan Miller
Scripture: John 14:23-29. Title: Everything We NeedJohn 14 falls in what scholars call Jesus’ “Farewell Discourse,” a lengthy teaching in which Jesus is preparing his disciples for life without him physically present with them. In this passage, Jesus promises his disciples the gift of the Holy Spirit, who will teach and guide them as they continue to live the Jesus Way.
We’re delighted to welcome the UHill congregation to Knox for a special joint worship service on Sunday, May 25! While their building undergoes maintenance, we’ll have the joy of worshiping together here at Knox. Rev. Richard will preside and Rev. Aaron from UHill will preach. A time of fellowship and special lunch will follow the service—don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to connect and celebrate as one community of faith!
Rev. Aaron Miller has pastored on the campus of UBC, since 2016. He is currently serving both University Hill UC and the UCC Campus Ministry. Before moving to Vancouver with his wife, Kate, and their (now) teenage sons, they lived and served in rural Ontario. Aaron is the authour of Witnesses of These Things: Faithfulness Here and Now, and the forthcoming Weird in the World: Living Toward the World God Wants (2026), and has recently begun PhD work at the Vancouver School of Theology, in New Testament Studies.
