Fifth Sunday in Lent Worship Service
Jesus used parables, simple day-to-day stories, to illustrate spiritual lessons. The word Parable comes from the Greek παραβολή (parabolē), literally “throwing” (bolē), “alongside” (para-) – or “to come alongside.” In this Lenten Season, we want to come alongside Jesus to learn about what it means to “forgive always,” “treat everyone generously,” “accounting for our life,” and “do for the least of the world.”
Text: Matthew 25:31-46, Parable of the Last Judgment
Title: “Do for the least of the world”
Synopsis: Jesus’ return will be like a judge who comes to decide among people – between the ones who helped the poor, the hungry, and the needy, from the ones who didn’t. What you do to the least of the world, not your religious affiliation, gets you eternal life.
