Fourth Sunday in Lent Worship Service
Jesus used parables, simple day-to-day stories, to illustrate spiritual lessons. The word Parable comes from the Greek παραβολή (parabolē), literally “throwing” (bolē), “alongside” (para-) – or “to come alongside.” In this Lenten Season, we want to come alongside Jesus to learn about what it means to “forgive always,” “treat everyone generously,” “accounting for our life,” and “do for the least of the world.”
Text: Matthew 25: 14-30, Parable of the Talents
Title: Account for Your Life
Synopsis: Jesus’ return with the glory is like a master who returns after a journey and calls his servants to account for the property he has entrusted to each of them according to their ability. God has given us talents according to our abilities. We are to use our talents to increase God’s kingdom.
